Proposal prices for the purchase of places for tourist accommodation in residential properties.
At the end of June, the Assembly of the Consortium of Tourist Accommodation (CBAT), agency under the Tourism Council of the Balearic Islands will adopt the prices for the purchase of tourist accommodation places in private residential properties.
Apart from the two essential prerequisites which are;
- Property must be located in a zone which is to be declared as suitable for such holiday rentals by the Counsel of Mallorca and the City Counsel .
- The building´s community association of a multi-family home has given its permission for holiday rentals. T
- The person intending to rent the property must also acquire the necessary “places” for the property, the number of which is determined by the valid occupancy certificate (cédula de habitabilidad).
The proposal sets out the following prices for holiday rentals:
Single-family homes: 4.000 Euros per place
Multi-family homes: 1.000 Euros per place
Prices for holiday rentals for up to 60 days per year for either type of property are set at 333,33 Euros per place.
Multi-family homes will be issued a license with a validity of 5 years, this fees can be paid in instalments throughout this five-year period. Licenses for single-family homes will be issued indefinitely and the fee is payable in its entirety upon presentation of the DRIAT application.
At the moment the CBAT has set the number of places to be issued at 42.000 and this number may be applied throughout Mallorca.
